PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Over sixteen years of experience in Civil Engineering, including site design, storm water modeling and design, water and sewer design, structural design in timber, steel and concrete, retaining wall design, coastal structure construction, wind analysis, foundation design, preparation of plans and specifications, project management, project permitting, construction services, regional storm water facilities planning and design analysis.

SELECTED PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Frenchtown Village Market:  The redevelopment of 2.73 acres of historic Frenchtown in Tallahassee, Florida to provide 15,000 ft2 commercial space, twenty residential units including 1,700-ft2 townhomes and 1,400-ft2 condominiums, and a 2,400-ft2 open-air pavilion.  The design preserved historic buildings and integrated them into the design.  This aided in the efforts to revitalize the surrounding community while maintaining the historic flavor of the neighborhood.

Gramercy Place Planned Unit Development:  Rezoning, site planning, infrastructure and stormwater design, and permitting for a 32-unit subdivision in Tallahassee.  As a planned unit development, the project involved rezoning the property, and the creation of a unique “PUD” zoning district with its own set of land use criteria.  A homeowners’ association was established to manage and maintain the development’s stormwater pond and common facilities.  The development was located on a canopy road, which required special attention to mitigate impacts to trees in the canopy zone.  Storm water design had to meet “closed basin” requirements.

Trade winds Planned Unit Development: Site planning, design and permitting for a planned unit development located on Mashes Sands Road in Wakulla County.  Rezoning was required to establish to establish a unique set of development criteria for the planned development.  The site design had to consider environmentally sensitive features, including wetlands, flood plain, and its coastal location.

Ox Bottom Reserve:  Design of a solution for a failed storm water pond in a residential development.  The development is located in the Bradfordville area of Leon County, which requires onsite retention of storm water, with some of the most stringent volume requirements in the State.  The pond, designed by another firm, was not percolating due to the high clay content of the soils and did not meet the Bradfordville requirements.  Extensive analysis of the soils was performed, and an innovative technique was developed to overcome the poor percolation characteristics of the native soils.

University Club Apartments:  Site planning, infrastructure design, stormwater design, and permitting of a 152-unit student housing community located in Tallahassee.  The site had numerous constraints, including jurisdictional wetlands, and its location in two different drainage basins, one of which was a closed basin.

Winn-Dixie at Four Points:  Site planning and permitting and infrastructure and stormwater design for the Winn Dixie shopping center located on the south side of Tallahassee at what is locally known as “Four Points”.

Tom Brown Park: Design of a wood bridge for the Tom Brown Park, a community park in the City of Tallahassee.  The bridge was required to withstand loadings from army tanks and other large vehicles which would cross the bridge coming to and from the nearby U.S. Armory.

Camp Crossing: An 84-unit residential subdivision located in eastern Leon County on U.S. 27 which involved the design of stormwater facilities providing total retention of runoff.

City of St. Marks:  Design of a large fishing pier for the Mashes Sands public recreation area.

Marina Village: Site planning and permitting and structural design for boat slips, sea wall, and coastal town homes, for the Marina Village development located at Mashes Sand.

Lynn Brothers Seafood:  Design of a sea wall and boat slips for the Lynn Brothers retail seafood market located in St. Marks.

Miami Subs:  Site planning, infrastructure design and permitting for a 3,200-ft2 restaurant located in the Village Green development in Tallahassee.

Video Warehouse: Site design, stormwater design and permitting for the construction of a 6000-ft2 building for a retail video sales facility, located on Universal Drive off North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.

Fazolli’s:  Site, stormwater and infrastructure design for an Italian fast-food restaurant located on Capital Circle in Tallahassee.

Production Support Group:  Site planning and permitting for a loading dock addition to an existing metal building in Tallahassee.

Apalachee Storage: Design and permitting of 100,000-ft2 of mini-warehouse storage, partly climate-controlled.  Worked with the surrounding neighborhood to provide buffering and resolve their concerns.  Worked with Talquin and Sprint to provide utility and access easements through the property to accommodate their facilities.

Chesapeake Place: Innovative design to provide a high-density townhouse development in the City of Tallahassee.  Alternative stormwater design was required.

Envision Credit Union:  Site planning, design and permitting for the Envision Credit Union located on Appleyard Drive in Tallahassee.  The site contained wetlands, flood plains and other sensitive features which had to be accommodated in the design.  The stormwater pond utilized a unique wet detention pond concept.

Various residential coastal homes: Structural analysis, wind load analysis and pile foundation design for numerous homes and structures located in the coastal areas of Wakulla and Franklin counties.
